Blaahs Society Cape Town will be recruiting new members on Sunday June 23.
They are looking for men who want to add value to the non-profit, non-political organisation which operates in black communities in Cape Town.
The society was established in 1978 and it has been operating
in Gugulethu, Nyanga, Langa, Philippi, Crossroads, Mandalay, Delft, Eerste River, Blue Downs,Tambo Village, Khayelitsha, as well as Port Elizabeth and Bloemfontein.
Through its work with other community organisations, the private sector, churches, government departments and sister organisations in the metro area, it aims to promote a sense of self-reliance within the communities.
Its activities include the distribution of non-perishable parcels to the communities, a Men’s March Against Abuse and Violence on Women and Children, visits to Correctional Services facilities, and men’s health and HIV/Aids awareness programmes.
