Langa’s top gospel artist Sihlanu Tshaka has revealed that his long-awaited new album will be launched on Saturday June 1.
The album, entitled Isandla Sakhe Sindibiyele, with 12 tracks, will be his first as a solo artist.
Formerly part of Jongi and Sihlanu, with Jongi Magaba, the top musician decided to work on his own project since last year and let his former colleague direct the programme on the day at Langa High School.
The duo started singing way back in 2004 and became popular in Cape Town with their first album, Sikelela Jesu.
But it was in 2010 with the album Makabongwe that they did wonders.
Sihlanu has been working on his first solo album, Isandla Sakhe Sindibiyele, since 2018.
Speaking to Vukani, Sihlanu did not mince his words to say the album will be launched in spectacular fashion. In the line-up of singers, Sihlanu has included some well-known local artists, including Thumeka, Eric Lothe, Onke Jalamba, Kholekile Qongqo, Unathi Songelwa, Nosive and Asanda.
He said he wants to make it a day to remember for his followers and gospel music lovers.
Sihlanu said all the musicians who will be there are people who aspire to be positive leaders in life.
“Surely people will go home happy.
“They will get what they want from all of us. These are singers of note and who are good people in their areas.
“These are inspirational singers. But mostly, my album will give them goosebumps,” he said.
Talking about the album, he said it will raise the bar in the music industry.
“Let me blow my own horn and say, this is top music that will entertain and educate people.
“It is traditional and there are praise songs in it. It is the best album from me.”
In the past he has worked with some of the best producers in the industry, the likes of Sandile Buthelezi, Hamalton Kubashe and Kamva Mcinga. On this album Sihlanu worked with Sandile Buthelezi, M.Z Music and Inity Production. The show starts at 11am and will continue until 6pm. Tickets are available at the door from R100 to R200 for VIP tickets.
