Trio dies in Crossroads fire

A man and two children, aged three and five, lost their lives in a shack fire in Crossroads this morning.

The City’s Fire and Rescue Service were called out to the scene at around 5:30am. On arrival, they found an informal structure on fire on the corner of Symphony Way and Govan Mbeki Road.

They were then informed that there were people missing.

They extinguished the fire and found the bodies of the man, a girl, 5, and a three-year-old boy.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Police have launched an investigation.
