The Kuyasa Community Day Centre in Khayelitsha will remain closed following a break-in on Wednesday January 8.
Eight computers which were delivered to the clinic in early December were stolen, and the network and uninterrupted power supply (UPS) cabinet was broken.
There was also damage to the building.
Mayoral committee member for community services and health, Dr Zahid Badroodien, said: “This incident is a significant setback for health services in the area. The Kuyasa CDC sees on average 400 clients per day; treats approximately 500 clients for Tuberculosis each year and has close to 5 000 clients on anti-retroviral treatment care.”
The clinic will remain closed until the police complete their investigation and the facility is secured again.
He also called on anyone with information about the break-in to come forward.
