Siphesihle Ntantini from Chris Hani High School in Khayelitsha won the Best Supporting Actor award in the 2017 Artscape High School Drama Festival competition. The winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the Artscape Theatre Centre on August 19. The 16 finalist schools, selected from over 36 entries across the Western Cape, spent four action-packed days, presenting their drama projects to a panel of adjudicators including Sticks Mdidimba, Ilne Fourie, Kay Smith, Riaan Visman and Lesley Manim from August 14 to 17. The drama festival was initiated and coordinated by Artscape’s School Liaison Unit. The festival aims to be a catalyst for young people to express themselves.
