Sailing students learn from the Italian Navy

A group of our RCYC Sailing Academy students between the ages 18 to 23, hailing from areas as diverse as Khayelitsha, Masiphumelele, Cape Flats and Mitchell’s Plain, recently went to Italy for sailing and life skills training aboard a beautiful tall ship called the Navia Italia.

For Philisande Gwala, Jordan Mopp, Siwaphiwe Siboto, Asiphe Ganiso, Thokozile Lusawana, Buyekezwa Mthini, Ovayo Myira, Yolande Mayekiso and Yobanathi Klaas this was one of many firsts – a first flight, the first time overseas and possibly the first exposure to Italian culture.
