Four Clap and Tap choirs will battle against each other on Saturday September 3 at the Desmond Tutu Recreational Hall in Makhaza, from 2pm.
This event will mark the first time St Paul Gospel Choir and Cape Inspiration, both from Makhaza, share a stage for a choir battle. They will face off against Sinoxolo Gospel Choir and New Teenagers Gospel Choir, both from Site B.
The choirs hope to showcase the talent that often gets lost in our townships due to a lack of resources.
The Choir Vibes platform aims to promote Western Cape Clap and Tap choirs. This will be their second event to promote cultural appreciation within the community. The choir battles are set to become a regular feature with a show planned bi-monthly until November.
In the last year, Choir Vibes has helped Revelation Gospel Choir record their debut album in a state of the art studio, while raising the profile of 24 Clap and Tap choirs in the Western Cape by providing music videos and sharing them on their social media platforms.
The event on September 3 will be recorded and broadcast on Dumisa TV, a church and gospel network station.
