The fight to end the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa has been given another boost by a joint effort between Boxer, the Department of Health, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and other organisations at the forefront of the vaccination drive.
After a successful vaccination registration awareness drive at Boxer stores in June, the Department of Health rolled out a mobile vaccination trial run at eight Boxer stores during July.
The mobile vaccination trial sites were set up during Sassa’s July pay-out days at selected Boxer stores in the Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Mpumalanga. This meant that more than 1000 pensioners were able to get their Covid-19 vaccine and Sassa grant at the same place.
Based on the assessment of the July trial, further vaccine roll-outs may take place at additional Boxer stores across South Africa in August.
