The City of Cape Town has expressed shock following the murder of a law enforcement officer in Khayelitsha.
Inspector Nhlangano Mkhize was shot dead on Friday April 12.
The details around the murder are still unclear, but the City has condemned what it calls “a senseless killing that has left a family bereft and his colleagues traumatised.”
Inspector Mkhize was a law enforcement officer for eight years and made the rank of inspector two years ago.
Mayoral member for safety and security, JP Smith, said: “On behalf of the City, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family and friends.”
The City is offering a reward of R50 000 for any information that could lead to the arrest and successful conviction of those responsible for his death.
