Boxers from across the city gathered at the hall at 14 Hope Street in Gardens at the weekend for a boxing event themed “Ballie Beatdown” presented by African Pride Fighting Championship (APFC), a charity based fighting organisation that raises funds and awareness for various issues. Proceeds from this weekend’s boxing event will be used to support prostate cancer patients as well as Guillain-Barré syndrome survivors through the SAME foundation.The night was headlined by two gym owners, Mike Mouneimne (PFA) and his namesake from Goodwood, Mike Goslett (Contenders MMA). The sold out venue was treated to a total of 15 fights that had everything expected by boxing fans, from bloodied opponents to knockouts. R100 000 was raised in the Ballie Beatdown.
