Water supply disruption in Site B

Residents are advised to keep their taps closed during the period of repairs to avoid water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.
The Water and Sanitation Department is currently attending to emergency repairs to a 450mm diameter pipeline on the corner of Lwandle and Papama Streets in Site B, Khayelitsha.

The work also involves replacing a faulty valve on the pipeline.

The water supply has been temporarily shut off to allow the maintenance crew to drain the immediate area of the burst pipe which will enable them to attend to the repairs safely.

Residents are advised to keep their taps closed during the period of repairs to avoid water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.

A water tanker is stationed at the hospital opposite Shoprite to supply water to residents for domestic use.
