There will be disruptions to the water supply in Gugulethu and Nyanga from 10am to 4pm on Thursday June 10.
The City’s Water and Sanitation Department has urged residents of these areas to store water in clean and sealed containers as zero pressure tests will be conducted on the main water supply.
Zero-pressure testing is an instillation process for pressure management technology. These tests are done to ensure that there are not any unmapped inflows before pressure reducing valves are installed.
Testing work is urgent as it reduces the possibility of pipe bursts and water wastage, it also assists in managing water pressure more effectively.
