The father of two people who were brutally murdered in Brown’s Farm in Philippi, could not hide the pain he is feeling after losing his children.
Siphiwo Libazi’s only two children, Ayabonga, 27, and Bongi, 25, were butchered outside their home by unknown attackers.
The father was called by community members to rush to his children’s house in the early hours of Monday morning and arrived at the horrific scene, finding his two children hacked to death inside the yard, by an unknown assailant.
“They suffered an excruciating ordeal. When I came the blood was streaming out of the yard to the street. I found my son near the gate dead. My daughter was in the passage and you can tell she was trying to flee. I am devastated,” said the father.
Talking to Vukani at the scene of the incident, Mr Libazi said the house belonged to his daughter and her brother was living with her.
Mr Libanzi said when he was called to come to the house, it had never crossed his mind that something this horrible had happened to them.
“I rushed to the house and when I got here, there was blood all over. Whoever did this, has also killed me (inside).”
He said as the family they were still confused about what had happened. Some residents on the scene could not utter a word when asked if they saw anything.
Police said they were called to the scene at about 1.40am after the bodies were discovered by community members.
Western Cape SAPS spokesperson, Captain FC Van Wyk, said that Nyanga police have registered two counts of murder. “They were found with multiple head and body injuries. The motive is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made yet,” Captain Van Wyk said.
