Township venture accelerator programme launched

The False Bay College’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Rapid Incubator in partnership with Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) have launched a venture accelerator programme that is aimed at reviving the township economy.

The programme is meant to help small business owners, who are 18 years and above, who want to grow their businesses.

Here are the requirements: 

Businesses must be operational for a minimum of 18 months;

Minimum of 18 years of age;

The owner must be a South African citizen;

The business can be formal or informal;

Be able to attend business development workshops, and

The business must be based in Khayelitsha, Philippi, Mitchells Plain and Strandfontein.

Interested entrepreneurs are all invited to attend the information sessions on the programme which will be held from 10am – 12:30pm at False Bay TVET College, Khayelitsha Campus-Mew Way from Monday August 19, Tuesday August 20 and Saturday August 4, and False Bay TVET College, Mitchells Plain Campus-Merrydale Road from Wednesday August 21, Thursday August 22 and Saturday August 24.

The most viable and growth orientated business will stand a chance of winning R 10 000 and business mentoring support.
