Grade 12 pupils at Thembelihle High School in Khayelitsha were given tips about preparing for their final exams and applying for tertiary education during a roadshow hosted at the school last Wednesday.
Old Mutual senior sponsorship and events manager, Bandile Mngoma, said the initiative strives to provide a platform for matriculants to access crucial information about applying for National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) funding, bursaries and university and TVET college admission.
He said they informed the matriculants about various platforms that they could use to prepare for their final exam such as Matric Live apps and hard copies called Q&A which are available for them to use.
He said some of these apps are data free while others are low on data consumption.
Old Mutual has partnered with loveLife to provide psychosocial support to the pupils at each roadshow.
Grade 12 pupil Avile Mpengesi said he had learnt about apps which are designed to help them.
Luleka Thabo, programmes coordinator at loveLife, said they were there to give motivation to matriculants and also enlighten them about some of the services which they are rendering.
Ms Thabo said they are an organisation which works with youth and they were there to ensure that they are ready for exams emotionally and mentally.
