The Metro Police Department recovered a stolen vehicle from the Siyanyanzela informal settlement in Brown’s Farm in Phillipi today.

Officers were on patrol in the area on Wednesday morning when they came across a white Nissan Sentra. The vehicle had been stripped of some of it’s parts and dumped in a nearby canal.

Metro police spokesperson Ruth Somolons said, “A check of the VIN number revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen from Westgate Mall in Mitchell’s Plain yesterday.”

In June, three stripped vehicles were found in the same area. They had all been stolen around the city.
