Last week Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi released what is now known as the Enoch Mpianzi Report, the drowned student from Parktown Boys’ High.
The Enoch report is very important because it puts a spotlight on some of the shenanigans that our children get exposed to in our schools and service providers such as that camp site that hosted the school.
I am embarrassed as a service provider at how this nature reserve conducted itself.
At that camp children were treated with carelessness. It is not unprecedented for this camp site to have kids drowning on their site. Four children died there in previous years and the authorities have not acted.
I bring this to your attention because the bulk of you as our clients send your children to these former Model C schools and that you should more careful when signing away consent forms in your children’s participation.
This doesn’t only apply to schools only but to service providers, if you enlist us in helping your child.
What this case has done it has empowered you as a parent not to leave things unquestioned.
