It is shocking to hear that there is syndicate of criminals targeting churches, robbing the congregants inside church precincts.
In one week, four churches (Hill Song
in Century City, a church in New Crossroads and two in Gugulethu) were targeted by criminals who stormed inside during church services, taking handbags, laptops and phones at gun and knifepoint.
What went wrong in our society? Why are we not playing our role as communities to fight crime, how can we fight crime?
What happened to our ward committees?
We need to stand up. This is getting too much. I don’t think the women and men in blue can fight this scourge alone, we need to be involved as communities. Crimes affects everyone and we cannot fold our arms and allow it to continue.
