PAC donates clothes to needy families

Members of Pan African Congress hand over clothes to Beauty Nosinala Nompumza

The Pan African Congress (PAC) Madoda Dlokoza branch in KTC donated clothes to three needy families on Saturday August 7.

And the Nompumza, Macethelo and Booysen families were excited to receive the donation.

The organisation said their members had been asked to donate clothes while others donated money so that they could buy clothes.

Branch chairperson, Siphosethu Mngqibisa said they wanted to make a difference in this community.

“We want to inspire other community builders to play their part in making a difference. We are doing not because we want votes but we because we want to help and show the spirit of Ubuntu.

Mr Mngqibisa said it was critical that they put the peoples interest first before anything else.

He added that they also have a tutoring a programme through which they assist children with school work.

An overwhelmed Beauty Nosinala Nompumza, who shares her shack with her three children, said her life had been a struggle since her shack burnt last year in December.

When her shack caught fire, she lost everything but she was glad that no lives were lost.

However, she said, even though her life took a horrible turn she had never went to bed with an empty stomach thanks to her community, relatives and church members who had ensure that she rebuilds her life.

“My only source of income is my old pension grant and it does not cover everything. I welcome any form of assistance because I don’t have much.”

PAC provincial member, Mfuzi Zonke said it was critical that they assist one another and build sense of belonging.
