Mkhanyiseli Primary gets uniform donation

There were smiles all round as Mkhanyiseli Primary School pupils lined up to receive their school uniforms.

It was a memorable day for the pupils at Mkhanyiseli Primary School in Nyanga when they received a donation of uniforms from the Donald White Mandla A Ndwanya Foundation.

On Thursday March 25, the foundation donated 20 dresses, 18 pants and 18 pairs of shoes to the value of about R10 000 to the needy pupils at the school.

The pupils wait patiently to receive their uniforms.

Foundation co-ordinator, Nomha Tyhulu, believes that when everyone looks and is dressed the same, the children spend less time comparing themselves to others. Uniforms, she said also encourage the children to take pride in their appearance.

Through their donations, she said, they wanted to touch the lives of the children and inspire them to achieve greatness in their lives.

“We donate to the school twice a year. Our primarily focus is in education. There’s a lot that needs to be done and we hope that other organisations and local business people could jump in and give back,” she said.

“We should strive to ensure that every child at a township school has all the school needs she or he requires so that they do not drop out of school.

“We do not have much but the little that we have we want to make a difference.”

School principal, Zukiswa Klaas, said they were grateful to the foundation for their continued support.
