As October is the month of mental health, I am worried about spousal killings.
I read with disgust, sorrow and disappointment the story of a man who shot and killed his wife and two children in Eerste Rivier recently.
The man went on to kill himself.
I just wonder what went through his mind when he pulled the trigger.
The man was supposed to protect, support and love his wife unconditionally, but he killed her instead.
Why didn’t he confront the situation and try to resolve the conflict?
It’s unfortunate that we still have men who are not strong enough to face difficult situations.
They can’t admit that all good things come to an end. It seems the only language they know is violence.
Men must stop this bad behaviour and learn to protect their women at all times.
