Magicana winners announced

The winners of The College of Magic’s Magicana Junior Magic Championships were announced last weekend, September 28 after two competitions – Close-Up Magic and Stage Magic – took place at the Homecoming Centre in District Six.The annual show brings together young performers to showcase their magic in front of a live audience. Chad Findlay, creative director at the College of Magic, said the standards were particularly high this year and congratulations go to all 12 magicians who took part in the two events. For the first time one person was awarded the top place in both categories. Sinalo Mtwana, from Khayelitsha, won the Close-Up as well as the Stage Championships. The Street Magic Contest – People’s Choice award went to Jacques Du Toit, from Vredehoek. Pictured are the judges and winners of the Magicana.
