Langa pupils taught about space tech

From Kasi To Space.... A group of 10-year-old pupils from Zimasa Primary School, in Langa, were treated to a science and technology outing, at the RedCup Village (3D Printing Farm) in Paarden Eiland, last Friday. Hosted by Kasi Tech Experience, a collective with the aim of designing propulsive landing rockets and high altitude balloons which will be launched from Kayamandi and Khayelitsha next month. Ten years ago... On May 22, 2012, Elon Musk's SpaceX made history by becoming the fourth entity, after the United States, Russia, and China, to launch a spacecraft into orbit and, on May 31 of that year, return it back to Earth. In Cape Town, a group of entrepreneurs from Kasi Tech Experience, in Khayelitsha, are building propulsive landing space rockets. They are in phase one of three, with the goal of launching these, as well as high altitude balloons, from the township, next month. Young scientists... Pupils from one of the oldest townships in Cape Town, Langa were spoilt for choice last Friday. The township of Langa is not only celebrating a 100 years with the community, but these budding scientists are building their own future, with the help of Kasi Tech Experience, RedCup Village (3D Printing Farm) and TTB Aerospace. Young minds were introduced to the fascinating world of space exploration and technology. Their journey began with an encounter with 3D printing technology. On Friday, September 21, 2023, 13 pupils Zimasa Primary School in Langa visisted Kasi Tech Experience for its Kasi to Space initiative.
