Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Mcebisi Skwatsha handed out over 2 000 food parcels to the people of Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Mitchell’s Plain, Mesco Farm, Kraaifontein and Sir Lowry’s Pass Village on Saturday April 11. The beneficiaries had been identified by their own community councillors. As he was delivering food parcels, Mr Skwatsha encouraged people to respect the rules of the lockdown being enforced to curb the spread of Covid-19. He said: “As you can see me, I’m addressing you while wearing my mask, really this is a difficult time which requires us to work together so that we can defeat the virus. I know what we are giving you is not much, but please share the food parcels, this is better than nothing.”
