Five people die in Crossroads fire

A fire claimed five lives in Crossroads.
Five people including a three-year-old boy died in a fire in Crossroads last night.

The City’s Fire and Rescue Service was called out at 11:30pm. At the scene, they found a double-storey house on fire in Imboniso Road.

City’s Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Jermain Carelse said: “A search of the property led to the discovery of the bodies of a man, woman, and a three-year-old boy in the garage and another two bodies of a man and a woman in the bedroom on the ground floor.”

The scene has been handed over to the police for an investigation.
