A 59-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of dagga with an estimated street value of R30 000 in Makhaza this morning.
Metro police officers and police officers, who were on a joint operation, received a tip-off about drug dealing at a house in Makhaza, Khayelitsha.Â
They followed up and asked the owner of the house for permission to search his property. They found 50 dagga parcels, a black bag filled with dagga and more drugs in a blue drum.
The suspect was then detained at Harare police station.
Metro police spokesperson, Ruth Solomons, said: “We thank the public for taking an interest in community safety by providing these tip-offs. While many tip offs come directly to officers out on patrol, residents can also direct any information they may have about illicit activities to drugs.stop@capetown.gov.za.” Â
