The City of Cape Town says it is trying to address refuse collection service delays in several communities.
The City says the delays are due to unplanned staff shortages and vehicle breakdowns.
Staff are working tirelessly to address the backlog.
Some of the areas which remain affected include Forest Village, Spandau, Beverly Park, Penhill, Electric City, Makhaza, Ekuphumleni, Makhaya, Harare, Ilitha Park and Kuyasa.
Residents of the affected areas are advised to place their wheelie-bins outside by 6.30am on Saturday January 5 until such time as they are emptied.
