The dams supplying the City of Cape Town are 80.6% full following recent rains.

Two years ago, the Theewaterskloof Dam was only 22% full. Currently, it’s 70% full.

The City says collective water consumption for the past week has increased by 20 million litres per day from 588 to 608 million litres per day.

Despite the slight increase, the daily allocation remains 650 m/l per day.

At the same time, water restrictions remain at Level 3.

Any changes to the  water restrictions will be announced later in the year.

Mayoral committee member for water and waste, Xanthea Limberg, thanked residents who continue to be water-wise.
