The City of Cape Town disaster risk management centre has confirmed that about 700 homes have been affected by flooding earlier this week.
Heavy rain was recorded throughout the city on Monday.
In Manenberg, the canal in Silverstream Road overflowed leading to a number of houses being flooded.
Officials completed assessments in informal settlements in Crossroads, Gugulethu, Khayelitsha and Strand.
Disaster risk management spokesperson, Charlotte Powell, said: “Plastic sheeting to fix leaking roofs has been issued. No evacuations or emergency sheltering has been activated.”
Various City departments are continuing with mop-up operations.
Meanwhile, no rain is predicted for the next three days.Â
