There’s excitement in the air in Khayelitsha and surrounding areas for the upcoming 12th Annual Indumezulu Gospel Show.
Promoters and organisers of the show are having sleepless nights trying to encourage people to buy their tickets early.
The annual event has lost some great concert venues in the last two years but organisers said there is still a spot to hold a concert this big.
This year’s event will be held at the Shekinah Healing Ministries in Luzuko.
Dumi Mkostad, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Sipho Ngwenya and Pastor Ncanda are among the artists who will perform on Saturday April 13.
However, promoters said there will be more local acts on the line-up than before.
According to Radio Zibonele’s Ntibaleng Shete, the annual concert will be the biggest ever in the townships thus far.
She said Cape Town is excited about the gospel show and urged fans to buy their tickets early.
“We are now in our 12th year of this ever-growing platform for artists and music lovers alike. Year in and year out we make sure that we do not disappoint our fans and listeners. We bring the best artists to entertain them. This year, we also have the best of locals who are crowd pullers in the province.”
She sent out a warning to those who buy tickets late. She said they will have to pay more at the door.
“The venue has been a challenge in the last two years. We all know that Mew Way was burnt down, now we have booked Shekinah Healing Ministries hall in Luzuko (the former One-up building). We are advising people to please come early. Buy their tickets early because there is a huge demand. If you happen to come to the event without a ticket, that might be costly.”
The concert will start as early as 9am on the day. Tickets cost R150 or R300 for VIPs. For more information call 084 626 7910.
