Indoni play explores lockdown in relation to history of slave and migrant labour

Premiere performance of Locked Doors, Behind Doors at Hostel 33, Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum, on May 1, 2021, Workers’ Day.

The production Locked Doors, Behind Doors, directed and choreographed by Sbonakaliso Ndaba, artistic director of Indoni Dance Arts and Leadership Academy, will be staged at the Artscape theatre from Thursday February 17 to Saturday February 19.

It explores the pandemic lockdown in relation to South Africa’s silenced, almost forgotten, history of slave and migrant labour.
